RUKAVAC – a place on the south-east side of the island which grew from a little fishermen’s place into the biggest place after the cities of Vis and Komiža. There are many houses, majority of which tourist apartments with a few restaurants and a basketball playground. You can easily by fresh fish in Rukavac because of fishing boats coming there.
There are several beaches as well: Stori Rukovac, a pebble beach in the oldest part of the village in an inner cove and the only part not overbuilt; Tepluš, a pebble beach on the south-west part of the village with a view on the isle of Ravnik; Bili bok, a range of flat, stone teraces on the outer side, mostly for nudists.
